- cé
- the earth, used only in the phrase an cruinne cé, the (round) earth, Irish, Early Irish cé, for bith ché, on this earth. The cé is supposed to be for "this", from the pronomial kei, Greek $$Gkei$$nnos, he, Latin ce, cis, English he. The root kei, go, move (Latin cio, Greek $$Gkíw), has also been suggested.
